Cleaning instructions:

Vacuuming and removing loose dirt from the surface will help keep your fabrics like inew. We recommend removing stains and spills immediately as they occur, blotting the surface of the fabrics with a clean sponge or cloth, lukewarm water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Let air dry.

Chlorine bleach will not affect the coloration of the solution-dyed acrylic fiber and is therefore acceptable for stubborn stain removal, if properly diluted.

EVERYDAY MAINTENANCE

Regular vacuuming and promptly addressing stains and spills are key to maintaining the pristine condition of your fabrics. We suggest gently blotting the affected area with a clean sponge or cloth, using lukewarm water and a mild detergent. Thoroughly rinse with clean water and allow the fabric to air dry.

For stubborn stains, a diluted solution of chlorine bleach can be used without affecting the coloration of the solution-dyed acrylic fiber. However, it is crucial to ensure proper dilution and follow manufacturer guidelines for safe and effective stain removal.

TRIM PILLOWS

To maintain the pristine condition of your textiles, start by gently brushing or vacuuming the surface to remove any loose dirt or debris. Promptly attend to spills to prevent staining by immediately blotting any excess liquid from the surface. Using a clean, damp cloth or sponge, delicately dab the affected area to remove the remaining stain. For more persistent stains, apply a small amount of natural soap or mild detergent to the cloth and gently rub the spot (avoid excessive rubbing, as it may damage the trimming). Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow the fabric to air dry.

For particularly stubborn stains, it is always advisable to seek professional cleaning services, as they possess the expertise and tools to tackle tough stains effectively. Their specialized techniques ensure that your textiles are treated with care, promoting longevity and preserving their original beauty.

PRINTS

The prints featured in Martin Gabriel products are designed to be versatile and easy to care for. They can be dry cleaned for a thorough and professional cleaning. Alternatively, you can opt for hand- or machine-washing using a gentle 30°C (86°F) cycle with a soft detergent. After washing, a low speed spin dry is recommended, followed by air drying to maintain the integrity of the fabric. It’s important to avoid using tumble dryers and high pressure cleaners, as they can potentially cause damage to the prints.

DO NOT treat indoor-outdoor prints with chlorine bleach and/or strong chemicals as this will inevitably damage the fabric. In case of tough stains, we always recommend seeking professional dry cleaning services to ensure the best possible outcome. At Martin Gabriel, we prioritize the longevity and beauty of our prints, and by following these care instructions, you can enjoy them for years to come.

To ensure proper care for your foam/filling (for both exterior and interior use), we recommend delicately removing the cover and washing it separately. Thorough rinsing and air drying are essential to prevent any residual soap or chemicals from reacting with the filling and potentially damaging the fabric. For stubborn stains, it is always advisable to seek professional dry cleaning services. It’s important to note that interior-grade foam should never be used for outdoor installations.

When it comes to covers for outdoor furniture, it’s crucial that they are certified BHT free to prevent any chemical reactions that could impact the fabric’s coloration.

TIPS TO PREVENT COLOR ALTERATION

Color loss or alteration on indoor-outdoor fabrics is often a result of prolonged exposure to UV rays, which can impact the molecular structure of the fibers and lead to the formation of radical compounds that affect color fastness. However, with Martin Gabriel fabrics, you can rest assured that our signature solution-dyed acrylic yarns have been specially woven to withstand UV rays (UNI EN ISO 105-B04). While rare, color alterations can still occur if fabric care guidelines are neglected.

To ensure the longevity of Martin Gabriel fabrics and their resistance to stains and weather, it is essential to follow our recommended maintenance instructions (as outlined in previous points). In particular, when using bleach or strong chemicals, thorough rinsing is crucial, followed by drying in the shade to prevent any yellowing. Additionally, it is important to remove any surface residues from the fabric regularly to prevent them from becoming embedded in the fibers, causing chemical reactions that may damage the fabric. This is especially important in dry areas and deserts where dust and sand particles can penetrate the fabric fibers and react with UV rays and other substances (such as pillow fillings or foam), potentially altering the fabric’s color.
