GÜTSCH RESTAURANT

GÜTSCH RESTAURANT ANDERMATT
Project: Outdoor & Interior Redesign at 2,500 m altitude – Restaurant Gütsch, Andermatt
For the high-altitude mountain restaurant above Andermatt – under the culinary direction of Markus Neff – I had the opportunity to develop a comprehensive textile concept for both indoor and outdoor spaces. The project combines high alpine location, extreme weather conditions, and sophisticated design aesthetics with the signature style of Martin Gabriel .
Outdoor area: Custom-made backrests with premium acrylic textiles
At an altitude of 2,500 meters, materials have to perform better: UV radiation, wind, humidity and strong temperature fluctuations are daily companions.
Therefore, for all the outdoor seating I have:
-
New foam materials of premium outdoor quality were used.
-
Made from high-quality acrylic outdoor textiles – colorfast, weather-resistant and soft to the touch
-
a harmonious, modern color concept was developed
The backrests were given a completely new textile identity, tailored to the architecture and the alpine panorama of the Gütsch.
Beach chairs: Modern alpine design in rich green
A particular highlight are the three beach chairs in the outdoor area.
These were completely redesigned – with:
-
an elegant green outdoor acrylic fabric
-
beautifully shaped decorative cushions for comfort & aesthetics
-
a modern, clean look that blends naturally into the landscape
