A brand that evolves with its ideas.
Martin Gabriel's story began with a simple observation: When furnishing a room, I was often missing that one special decorative cushion that makes all the difference. This led to the idea of developing my own collections – with carefully selected fabrics, exceptional designs, and an eye for materials, colours and textures.
What began with cushions evolved over the years into a versatile world of textiles and interior design. Travel, meetings with manufacturers and personal exchanges with people from the textile industry always brought new experiences and ideas. High-quality faux fur blankets were added, and eventually, handmade outdoor rugs – an area that had long fascinated me and in which I saw great design potential.
Intensive work with different materials and weaving techniques later led to the creation of my own indoor rug collection. New Zealand wool, Tencel, viscose and special handcrafted textures are at its heart.
Many developments arose from a personal desire to design things differently. The idea for custom-made outdoor covers was one of them. After all, high-quality outdoor furniture deserves protective covers that not only protect but are also aesthetically appealing.
It was never my aim to offer as many products as possible. Rather, it was about combining special materials, quality craftsmanship and original ideas.
New paths. New perspectives.
The founding of Gabriel Weibel begins another chapter. Together with Michael Weibel, an independent brand for high-quality outdoor furniture is being created. Handcrafted production in Indonesia, sophisticated weaving techniques, Italian outdoor textiles and textile tailoring in Portugal form the foundation of the new collections.
The locations have also evolved.
Martin Gabriel's new main location is in Endingen in Aargau. At the same time, the showroom for Gabriel Weibel is being created here.
With Lugano in Ticino, another location has been added. In the creative environment of Debas Surfaces, many years of experience in architecture, natural stone, marble, surfaces and interior design meet diverse ideas and expertise. Personal exchanges with experienced specialists open up new possibilities for individual projects and creative collaboration.
Two locations, different influences and ever-new perspectives.
What has accompanied me from the very beginning is the conviction that special products do not arise by chance. Rather, they come from curiosity, experience, high-quality materials and the ambition to design things in my own way
